The Production Farm joins the national movement to raise awareness and celebrate mental health for Mental Health Awareness Month. Together we can provide support, educate, and inspire people to celebrate their mental health and support those individuals affected by mental illness.

The second week of May - We are creating Flower Bombs! You may have seen them pop up at our tent at the local farmer's markets. Why flower bombs? Creating a flower seed bomb can have several benefits for mental health. Here are some ways:

  • Encourages mindfulness: Making seed bombs can be a mindful activity that allows you to focus on the present moment and quiet your mind. This can be a great way to reduce stress and anxiety.

  • Increases connection with nature: Planting and growing flowers can help you feel more connected to nature, which has been shown to have a positive effect on mental health. Being in nature can help reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress.

  • Promotes a sense of purpose: Taking part in an activity that has a positive impact on the environment can give you a sense of purpose and fulfillment. This can be particularly helpful if you are struggling with feelings of low mood or lack of motivation.

  • Provides a sense of accomplishment: Once you have created your seed bombs and planted them, you can watch your flowers grow and bloom. This can give you a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, which can be beneficial for your mental wellbeing.

  • Increases social connection: You can involve others in the activity of creating seed bombs and planting them, which can help you feel more connected to others and build a sense of community. Social connection is an important factor in promoting mental health and wellbeing.

We utilize sensory integration into each of our services.
When you create a seed bomb, you engage your senses by touching and feeling the texture of the soil and seeds, seeing the colors and shapes of the flowers, smelling the fragrance of the flowers, and potentially even tasting the herbs or other edible plants in the mix. This sensory stimulation can help to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and increase feelings of relaxation and well-being. In addition, planting and tending to the flowers that grow from the seed bombs can provide ongoing sensory stimulation and a sense of connection to nature, which can have a positive impact on the sensory nervous system and overall mental health.

Overall, creating and planting flower seed bombs can be a fun and rewarding activity that can have a positive impact on mental health.
